Mosman Community Gardeners is a community group running a food gardens in Mosman. We are located in Mackie Lane which runs off Lang Street, directly behind Honeysuckle Garden Centre on Military Road.
Many people in Mosman live in apartments, have gardens unsuitable for growing vegetables or fruit, or lack time to maintain a garden or the confidence to do so. By growing food locally, we can:
– reduce food miles
– encourage healthy eating
– promote composting and sustainability
– re-energize and connect local neighbourhoods
– give people a way of engaging in pleasant physical exercise
We garden together in shared beds and divide up the harvest of the day. Most gardening sessions end with a cup of tea and a chat in our rotunda. We have a daily watering roster and at the beginning of each new season, we hold an informal BYO garden celebration.
Our running costs are covered by annual membership fees, grant supports from Mosman Council, Mosman Rotary and by donations in kind from Bunnings Balgowlah. Our free use of the site is through the generosity of Ausgrid who own the land.

At Mackie Lane we garden on Wednesday and Sunday afternoons:
Winter Time: 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm Summer Time: 3 pm to 5 pm
